My DIY Projects!

Seeing as I am a bride who loves all things Martha Stewart...I am tackling a few projects myself! I will be creating our Save the Dates, Programs, Monograms, Card Box, Candy Buffet, Bridesmaids Jewelry, Bridesmaids & MOH Tanks, etc. etc. etc.

The Monogram!

My first DIY project was creating a monogram! We are going for vintage glam but yet modern! I love it! I used PowerPoint and fonts from dafont.com as well as a graphic from istockphotos.

Candy & Cookie Buffet!

Picture
The FI and I took advantage of 50% off coupons from AC Moore and 40% off coupons from Michael's this weekend to purchase all the jars and vases for our cookie and candy buffet. I had previously purchased the beautiful damask runner for our buffet too! I added different black and white ribbons to each container using hot glue for a fun and modern effect.

DIY Pearl Bridesmaids Necklaces

Picture
I followed the instructions from the Vintage Glam Blog and with the help of my friend Kahla, I created these gorgeous pearl necklaces for my bridesmaids and myself! I am still debating on the yellow ribbon or changing it to a black satin ribbon? The instructions can be found here:

Signs, Water Bottle Labels, Seating Charts...oh my!

Candy Buffet

Here is the sign explaining to my guests that they can take the candy home :)

Signs for our Bathroom Boxes

Picture
One for the ladies and one for the mens...

Water Bottle Labels

Picture
I plan on printing these on my laser printer and then running them through my Xyron to attach them to the water bottles. I will put some in the OOT boxes and some in cute bins at the ceremony since it is outdoors!

Seating Chart Template

Picture
This is just our rough draft template. None of the guests names are actually ours! It was just a template I stole from a knottie...but I forget who! Please let me know if it's you! I added the corner flourishes and the chandelier.

Photo Sharing Cards

Picture
Thank goodness for Vistaprint! I made these little cards in less than 5 minutes and only had to pay $5.00 for shipping on 250 cards! I plan on putting them at each table and the rest at the guest book table.

Candy Buffet Take Out Boxes

Picture
I used damask packing tape and yellow organza ribbon to spruce up the white take out boxes. I also hired Etsy seller SpecialTags to create the favor tags that I will attach to each take out box. I had previously created the graphic but I just did not want to print, cut and assemble 200 tags!

Hanging Door Letters

Picture
After a few failed attempts myself...I worked with Etsy seller Spoccdesign (Mary) to create wooden hand painted letters to hang on the doors of the Glen. I love them!

Wine Bottle Labels aka Table Numbers

Picture
I worked with Etsy seller SpecialTags (Rosie) again to help me print the wine bottle labels that are going to be my table numbers. I am a HUGE wine lover and this is just a special little touch to add to the personality of our wedding! I also had the teachers at my school save up their empty wine bottles over the summer. I had over 100 to choose from! I think that we teachers know exactly how to relax over summer vacation! I chose 20 of the most unique and different bottles and my next project will be soaking off the old labels and attaching the new ones! Here are the proofs from Rosie! Love them!

Chair Signs!

Aww that Rosie...she is so amazing! :)

Tissue Paper Pomanders

Picture
My bridesmaids and I spent a Saturday night with some wine, chinese take out and cheesy love movies to make these lovely pomanders. I bought two Martha Stewart kits called Pom Pom kits and instead of making them round, we made them flat. I plan on tying these to the ends of the chairs that line the aisle for the ceremony.

Wine Bottle Table Numbers

Picture
My MOH, FI and I spent a snowy Sunday afternoon making these babies. They were a huge project and took a lot of time. I suggest soaking the bottles in hot soapy water to help ease the scraping process. If there is any residue, try Goo Gone. Also, be sure to rinse them after wards with hot soapy water and let them dry before applying any decals or labels. Bottles with tapered necks do not work well with longer labels as it causes them to crinkle and wrinkle.

Card Box

Picture
I had purchased this box over a year ago from a Knottie but it had pink ribbon on it. I carefully removed the pink ribbon and hot glued some yellow ribbon on instead! I finished it off with a bow :)

Baskets, Signs, Vases etc.

Here are the bathroom boxes and signs, matches and vase, photo booth props basket and our programs basket. All simple little projects!

Got Bubbles?

Picture
I really didn't know if I wanted bubbles or not but in the end, I wanted them. I scored 100 bubble wands for $15.00 at Walmart one random day. I used the extra ribbon I had left over from the candy buffet to add a little pop of color to them. Perfection.
