Jay from Golden Gate is my Hero!

Jon and I had a very hard time meeting with florists, explaining our vision and having it all come together within our budget. Flowers are just not something I am willing to splurge on! After meeting with a long list of highly recommended florists, we finally came along and found Jay from Golden Gate Studios. Jay is amazing! He understood our vintage glam yet modern wedding vision. He was genuinely excited about all the arrangements that he sketched out for us! We are signed on with him and looking forward to working with him!

My bouquet will be different shades of yellow roses with mini yellow calla lilies and pearl centered stephanotis. It will be surrounded by white ostrich feathers and hand tied with lace from my dress and pearl pins. My MOH will have a mini version of my bouquet with black ostrich feathers. My three bridesmaids will have all different shades of yellow roses and black ostrich feathers. All of their bouquets will be hand tied in ivory satin with pearl pins.

FI will have a yellow calla lily and white pearl centered stephanotis and a mini white ostrich feather. The BM will have a similar boutonniere without the ostrich feather. All the groomsmen will have just a yellow calla lily. I did my best to  match the girls' bouquets to the men's boutonnieres.

Our ceremony will be taking place outside in the garden of the Glen Manor House. I decided to go with white carnation pomanders with a yellow satin ribbon and white ostrich feather accents.I didn't want a lot going on at the ceremony because the garden itself is amazing.

Our outdoor cocktail tables will be draped in damask fabric and on top will sit these beautiful calla lilies twisted inside a fish bowl. I think they are fun and modern yet still classic and beautiful.

Our reception tables will have either a high or low centerpiece. Our low tables will be draped in either black pintuck table cloths. They will have three cylinder vases with a floating candle. In the middle, there will be a silver mint julep cup filled with an arrangement of white and yellow flowers and white ostrich feathers. Our high centerpieces will be a unique Jay creation! They will be in 30 inch vases that I purchased from BostonBride919. They will have a collar of white ostrich feathers. There will be a round arrangement of a variety of yellow flowers sitting on top. I also purchased crystal strands to hang down from each arrangement. Jay estimates that they will be around 4.5 feet tall! They will sitting on tables draped in black and white damask table cloths for an extra wow factor! I am super excited for these!

I am going to DIY these ostrich feather centerpieces for the guest book table and seating chart table. I might even make them for the bathrooms since there are sitting areas off each bathroom. I will see how ambitious it is to complete one first!

Centerpiece Trial

FI and I met with Jay and Melissa from Golden Gate last night to view a trial of our "low" centerpieces. We were very happy with the roses, hydrangea, ostrich feathers etc but are not feeling the carnations. It makes it too Eastery I think. Our "tall" centerpieces will be on tall glass vases I bought from the lovely BostonBride919 and will have the same mix of flowers at a much larger quantity with hanging crystals. Woohoo, check!
